History
A rich history
The school group was formed in 2021 from the former schools of CSG Calvijn (CBSplus, Juliana, Groene Hart, and Zuidermavo-havo) in Rotterdam-South and Barendrecht, as well as the Farelcollege in Ridderkerk. The name of the school group is new, but the schools that make up the group are of course not new. All schools have their own long-standing history. They have been part of the Association for Christian Education in Rotterdam and the surrounding area for a long time.
Together...
...they offer students a safe haven to chart their own course.
...they are Portus.
Back in time
The origins of CSG Calvijn date back to 1929. Over the years, several schools joined. After the last merger in 2004, the name was changed to Christian Comprehensive School Calvijn. The predecessor of the Farelcollege was founded in 1920. After merging with the Christian Domestic Science School in Ridderkerk in 1994, both schools continued together as Farelcollege.
